Join ULI Los Angeles for a Breakfast Meet & Meet Program with Calvin E. Hollis, the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the California Redevelopment Agency Los Angeles (CRA LA).
Calvin E. Hollis was appointed as Interim Chief Executive Officer in November 2009. As Interim CEO, he exercises direct supervision over all CRA/LA executive, managerial and support staff. Mr. Hollis joined the agency in January 2009 as Deputy Chief of Operations for Real Estate and Economic Development and his duties included acting as a senior advisor to the CEO and COO in major real estate transactions and in the development and implementation of the organization's economic development policies and strategies.
His duties in the position include acting as a senior advisor to the CEO and COO in major real estate transactions and in the development and implementation of the organization's economic development policies and strategies. Mr. Hollis acts as an advisor to the Regional Administrators in developing additional internal capacity in the areas of real estate transaction negotiations and analysis. Additionally, he has direct supervisorial responsibilities for the Real Estate department (including real estate appraisals, acquisitions, relocations property management and lease negotiations) and the Capital Finance department responsible for internal underwriting of conventional real estate development transactions and identifying sources of financing for such projects.
Prior to his appointment, he served for 26 years as managing principal of the Los Angeles office of Keyser Marston Associates, Inc., a prominent real state advisory firm specializing in structuring public/private transactions throughout the western United States. Clients included cities, counties, redevelopment agencies, port and transit authorities, Tribal authorities and not for profit cultural and medical institutions. Notable assignments included the Hollywood Highland retail and entertainment center, the Paseo Colorado mixed use project in Pasadena, the Montage Hotel and Public Gardens in Beverly Hills, the Disney Grand Central Creative Campus in Glendale and the Grand Avenue project in downtown Los Angeles.
Mr. Hollis is a member of Lamda Alpha, The Urban Land Institute and its Public/Private Development Council, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and has served as a special advisor to the California Redevelopment Association.
