Speaker Biographies
Steve Boss, Managing Director of Retail Investments and Development, Champion Real Estate
Mr. Boss is responsible for all acquisition, development, repositioning and disposition functions for the retail and mixed use investments for the company. During his 23 years in the commercial real estate field, he has directed real estate activities for public and private real estate investment companies, completing transactions valued at over $750,000,000.
From 1986 through 1994 Mr. Boss managed client relations in the Los Angeles area at CBRE. He was involved in transactions totaling more than $50,000,000.
At Pan Pacific Retail Properties (PNP:NYSE), Mr. Boss was one of five members of the executive team to make “road show” presentations in connection with an IPO that raised $300,000,000 and a follow up offering raising $150,000,000. As Director of Acquisitions for the company he was responsible for over $450,000,000 in new property acquisitions throughout the Western
Jeffrey Gault, CEO, Solus Property Company
Jeffrey M. Gault AIA has a longstanding career in a wide variety of real estate planning, development and investment activities with a focus on residential properties. Mr. Gault is Chairman and CEO of Solus Property Company and other Solus entities. Mr. Gault is affiliated with Westbrook Partners as a Senior Advisor and Solus with an exclusive management agreement with Westbrook in connection with US residential investments.
Since 1990 Mr. Gault has partnered with major financial firms, including but not limited to: Goldman Sachs/Whitehall Fund 07; North Star Realty Finance Corporation; Pritzker family of Chicago which controls Hyatt Corporation; and SunAmerica, Inc. During this same period of time, Mr. Gault served as the President and COO of Empire Companies, a California residential developer, and President of KB Urban a division of KB Home. From 1985 to 1990, Mr. Gault was the Executive Vice President and Director of Real Estate of Home Savings of America, FA, the principal subsidiary of H.F. Ahmanson and Company. From 1970 to 1985 Mr. Gault was a practicing architect/planner.
Brian Jones, Forest City
Brian M. Jones formerly served as president of the Forest City West Commercial Group. Jones oversees the Company's new development opportunities and all aspects of the commercial real estate development process in California and the West Coast. He is supervising the development of several large-scale projects, including the 835 Market Street development in San Francisco, one of the largest urban mixed-use projects in Forest City's portfolio. He is also leading the development of Victoria Gardens, a major new suburban town center in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Jones has been in the commercial real estate industry since the early 1970s. He has been in his current position since 1987, when he established Forest City's commercial development operation for the Western region.

For over 25 years, NormaLynn Cutler has been breaking new ground in marketing, branding, multi-media and the arts. Starting in her garage with her first company, The Good Guise, she built an award-winning, multi-disciplinary real estate advertising juggernaut that was purchased by an international corporation in 1991. Over the years, the cutting edge team won 6 New York Film Festival Awards as well as virtually hundreds of other creative awards.
In 1992 Cutler repurposed and repositioned herself and her company. Today, Cutler Enterprises is a boutique “Big Idea” firm that produces imaginative film to animate public spaces, generates and executes large and small scale public art initiatives, and works on special design projects for large and small gaming owners and operators. The overall marketing/branding skillset is still part of the company’s core competency.
Ms. Cutler is the Vice-Chair for Programming Urban Land Institute for Retail, Entertainment and Hospitality and she currently runs the largest mentorship program in ULI. Her personal charitable commitments focus on children and the fine arts.
